On 1 September 2010 EDRA opened a new office in Brussels. Headed by EDRA Director of European Affairs, Alisdair Gray, the new office is located on Square de Meeûs, centrally positioned in the city's EU quarter housing Europe's major political institutions. EDRA is now registered on the European Commission's official list of lobbying organizations and this new office was created to:
|
- Promote EDRA’s members’ positions on a variety of issues, including sustainability, trade, employment, consumer affairs and its supplier relationships to key media and stakeholders in Brussels.
- Position EDRA as a significant stakeholder through the organisation of events involving key EU decision-makers.
- Maintain a strong dialogue with policy-makers in a time when the retail sector is under increased pressure from regulators.
- Position EDRA members with consumers and key public affairs audiences including media as socially responsible businesses.
